Jazz Game - Dream Come True

For the last couple years I have told Brady numerous times that before I die I WILL sit on the front row at a Jazz game, regardless of how much money it costs me. This might sound unreasonable for all you non-Jazz fans, but for me, it's a big deal. So, I was sitting at work the other day and Brady called me and said "guess what," I was curious to see where this conversation was going, so I said "I don't know, what?" and he proceeded to tell me that his boss told him he could take the company Jazz tickets for that night on the FRONT ROW.....I about died. I knew his work had front row tickets, but they are a hot commodity so I never planned on being able to use them, so when he told me this, I was floored.

He came and picked me up from work and we were treated to an amazing dinner at the Jazz 100 club, then walked down to the game. We walked on the court and I intentionally asked the usher where our seats were and when he said "you're right over there on the front row," I was just so excited. I asked him just so I could hear him say that.....ahhhhhh I loved it. Not a bad view of Millsap

Here we are at halftime indulging in all the treats we ever wanted....all for FREE! I mean, why wouldn't I treat myself to a Twix ice cream bar, they are one of my most favorite things.

After the game; sad it was over, but as lame as this sounds, it was a night I will never forget--it was so much fun! Thanks iFreedom :-)

Museum of Natural History

Over the weekend we took Bevin and Mckall to the Utah Museum of Natural History and we had such a great time. We picked up the girls at 10:00 a.m., buckled them in and we were off. It was so much fun to spend time with them and let Mindy have a few hours to get things done around the house. How cute are these girls?!

I loved walking around with Mckall with her harness/backpack on, she is such a busy body and loved roaming the museum so it was a good thing that she couldn't go too far without me right behind her!

This is Bevin looking in the magnifying glass at the algae growing in this big tube of water

They had these big puzzles for kids to do where they put the nucleus, mitochondria, etc. in the correct place, and once it's complete, the whole thing lights up. Bevin loved it and did two times before other kids came along and wanted to do it. So fun.

Here's Bevin staring at the fish in the fish tank - she was fascinated with it!

Brady helping the girls play in the sand/water. This exhibit was trying to teach kids about the deserts in Utah and how the sand erodes and creates canyons and stuff. They played in this sand for a good 20 minutes before we moved along to the next exhibit.

Here we are looking at animals that exist around the Great Salt Lake and look who's in the background of the pic....Elder Oaks. This was our sneaky way of getting a picture of him without having to ask him directly. :-)

The girls LOVED playing in this stream of water and catching fish with their little nets. We played in here for such a long time and of course their shirts got soaked, but oh well, that's what aunts and uncles are for right?

Apparently Mckall had so much fun she couldn't stay awake in the car ride home. We stopped and got the girls some lunch and headed back home. It was such a great time to be able to spend time with them - Thanks Mindy!

Happy Birthday Mindy & Missy

Yesterday, for Mindy and Missy's birthday, Mindy, Dustin, Missy, Jen, Brady and I all met at Mi La Cai for dinner. Since I just work down the street, I arrived first and got us a table. Shortly after, Mindy, Missy and Dustin walked in and Missy was dressed like she was going to a funeral! I asked her what was up, and she said the attire was because she was getting older - can't believe they turned 28, wow times flies! I thought it was so funny for her to wear all black, bright red lipstick and a black veil over her eyes, she's hilarious. Then Brady walked in and was just looking at Missy perplexed and said "apparently Gaga has decided to join us for dinner tonight." Then Jen walked in and we all laughed a minute then Missy took the veil off and we ordered our dinner. I got my usual, the egg roll meal with vermicelli noodles and Brady got the pineapple chicken......yummy. We had great conversation and a great time.

After dinner, we all went over to Mindy and Dustin's because they had to get back home to the girls. Jen was really sweet and had ordered an ice cream cake for Missy so she picked it up on her way over to Mindy and Dustin's, so when she got there, we sang "Happy Birthday" to both of them and ate the cake, which was SO good.

It was a great night and I am so lucky to have the sisters that I do; I don't know what I ever did to be so lucky. One year for Christmas Mindy got Missy a frame that said "Sisters by Chance, Friends by Choice" and put a picture of us 3 in it. I love that saying because we are sisters by chance and friends by choice. I love them both so much and am so blessed to have them as my sisters. Happy Birthday to them!!

5 Year Anniversary

I can't believe it's been 5 years since Brady and I got married! Wow, time flies. For our anniversary this year we went to La Caille, it was so much fun. I went there once in 9th grade and remember getting all dressed up and having a fun time so I was excited to go again. We came home from work and got dressed up and headed up there.

The food was really good; for an appetizer we got crab cakes, for our entree I got salmon and vegetables with an apple walnut salad and Brady ordered the cornish game hen with vegetables, something he has never had before, and the same apple walnut salad. We were pretty full at this point, but it's our anniversary so we had to get dessert! He got the ice cream and fudge crepes and I had a dessert trio plate - it came with creme brulee, a chocolate fudge cake and some donut things, oh my gosh they all were so good. We then walked around and looked at the lights and headed home. It was a fun night and something I'll always remember.

I'm a College Grad!

Last night I gave my final business presentation and am officially a college grad! My business plan for was an all-women's running company since I really enjoy running. I wanted to focus on an industry or business that interests me, otherwise it would have made for a really long semester! The presentation went better than I could have imagined; the teachers gave me positive feedback and suggestions for things I should change. I walked out of the conference room feeling like a ton of bricks had been lifted off my shoulders, a great feeling.

I walked into my house to see that Brady had decorated - how sweet is that? I have the best husband ever, he is so great to me and I'm one lucky girl. When I walked in he sprayed me with silly string and yelled "Congraduation!" I mean, c'mon, who does that? He's amazing.

The little army men in this picture represent that "even 1,000 army men couldn't stop you from reaching you goal" and the money is supposed to represent the money I'll make now that I'm graduated. He's so creative.

I love the "great work grows here" banner.

Now that I'm done with my Bachelor's, I've signed up to get my PHR (Professional in Human Resources Certification) through SHRM. It's a 12-week course through USU which is held at SLCC. It will be a good thing for me to have on my resume so I'm excited about that.

Turkey Bowl 2011

Every year Brady and his friends play in their Turkey Bowl. I always go and watch them and take pictures. This year was great because there was absolutely no snow and it wasn't freezing cold like last year. Last year, I had hand warmers because it was so cold and there was probably 2 feet of snow on the ground, it was crazy! So, this year was a nice change.

It was "whites" against "colors" and Brady was on the "colors" team. He wore his Tom Brady jersey so it said "Brady" on the back, duh! He loved it.
Someone on his team made a really bad error so Brady wasn't too happy. The hands on the head is totally implying that he's bugged. Too funny.

Some of my friends came and it was funny because we all were wearing black and red and Utah Utes stuff. Hey, I guess great minds think alike, right?

Lo and Behold, Brady's team won and Cory made this fancy schmancy trophy for the winning team. So cute and clever.

The whole gang. A really fun tradition that I think will contnue for a really long time.

Halloween Party

We had been thinking for a while what we wanted to do for Hallowen this year and after watching the 30 for 30 on ESPN about Steve Bartman and Moises Alou, we knew that's what we wanted to do. Steve Bartman (Brady) was the spectator on the first row of the Cubs game that caught the foul ball that Moises Alou (me) "should have and could have" caught. If he would have caught the ball, chances are the Cubs would have won the World Series, but ended up losing. So sad! It seemed to be a big hit with our friends because they all love sports and knew exactly who we were when we walked in, which was good.

Our friends had a Halloween party at a warehouse which was really fun. They had various space heaters around the room, lots of good food, a projector with college football on it and some great music. It was a good time.

Katie was from Top Gun - really cute costume
Danny, Jake and Brady

Me and Erin. Erin and Danny were mummies and looked really cute.

Kristie was Humpty Dumpty because she's pregnant and looked so cute! Jason pulled off a good nerd too.

Hay!!! Cutest lady bug around.
