Baseball & Softball

I've enjoyed watching Brady play in various baseball and softball games this fall. It's always fun to gather with friends to watch our hubby's and friends play ball together.

I wish I could go back in time when we were in high school and go to ALL of Brady's baseball games. I feel like I missed out on so much of his baseball career because we didn't start dating until I was a senior in high school. I love watching him play baseball and even softball because he's the best short stop around, even if I am a little biased. :-)

Family Pics and Utah Game

We had family pictures with Brady's side of the family on Saturday, November 6th...the same day as the Utah game. The Utah game in which we camped out all night in the freezing cold in order to get tickets; there was no way we were going to miss this game! Family pics were scheduled for 12:00 noon, but they were generous enough to bump them up to 11:00 am so Brady and I could make it up to the U in time to tailgate with our friends before the game, which started at 2:00 pm. We had the pictures at Wheeler Farm and everyone was supposed to wear fall colors. Kortney and Darrin (Brady's cousins) were in charge of taking the pictures. We didn't have enough time to get a picture of just our family, but here is the whole family! I love these guys...what a great group of people.

Halloween and Camping Out

For Halloween, Brady had been thinking long and hard of what our costumes should be. One night we were watching TV and it showed people that dressed up as Oompa Loompas for Halloween and that's where the idea began....

We got all of the pieces to our costumes at Wal-Mart (no matter how much I hate shopping at Wal-Mart sometimes, it does have a plethora of items and the lowest prices). So, we got the sweat pants, the turtle necks, the duct tape, buttons, wigs, etc. and began our creation. Thanks to Karen, we were able to pull them off! We had a lot of fun dressing up this year and I was surprised that I tied for 1st place at work for the best costume!

Our first Halloween party was at Phil and Alesha's club house with the Olsen's. It's always so much fun to get together with them. Here are a few pictures from the party:

Other parties we went to were at Danny & Erin Cornia's and then Cory & Kristie Lucking's. We had such a great time with our friends. It's always so much fun to see everyone's costumes. Although I took a lot of pictures of all the costumes, I'm not posting them all, so here are just a few pics:

We had to leave straight from Cory & Kristie's party to drive up to the U to camp out for Utah vs. TCU tickets....it was freezing! We've camped out before for Utah vs. BYU tickets and thought we should do it again this year. It was really fun hanging out and chatting and then going to Village Inn at 2:30 in the morning to warm up with some hot chocolate. We walked away with 2 tickets to the game...it was totally worth it!!

Sleeping on the concrete...not so comfy So sleepy, but the hot chocolate made us feel better

GO UTES!

Dodge Ball Barrage

On Friday night, Brady and I were hanging out at home and one of his friends called and asked if he wanted to fill the last spot on their dodgeball team, so of course he said yes. Evey year, Deron Williams, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Price hold a dodgeball tournament and all the money that is raised go to their charities. We had heard of the tournament, but knew it was expensive to play in, so we were excited that he could participate and not have to pay a penny! He had to be at the Salt Palace a little before 9:00 a.m. so while he did that, I walked in the NAMI walk (the National Alliance for Mental Illness). It was a beautiful day and I was glad to support Tazia and Bradli Jo in honor of their dad; it was really fun to catch up with old friends, too.

Brady and his team won their first 6 games and had a 3-hour break until 3:30 p.m. so I drove downtown after the walk was finished and met him for lunch at Blue Lemon; Katie was working so she met us and ate with us, it was fun. While we were walking downtown, we ran into Donny Osmond! Brady LOVES to get pictures with celebrities, so as soon as he saw him, we stopped him before he crossed the street and snapped a picture with him (he was going to the temple to attend a wedding). Brady asked him if he's watching Dancing With the Stars this season and Donny said yes and that he thinks Brandy will win. He was really nice!

Waiting for the buzzer to begin the game. Even though it's only dodgeball, I was so nervous for him! I just wanted him to do well so I had butterflies in my stomach.

After one of their wins
All of Brady's team mates got out and he was the last one on the floor...um, scary! There were 4 guys on the other team and Brady caught the balls they threw at him and was able to get some of his team members back on the floor. Brady's team ended up winning! Good job Brady, way to make me proud.
After winning the first 7 games, they lost their 8th game and were out of the tournament, dang it!

We had such a fun time at the Dodgeball Barrage and had a great time seeing our Jazz players so close. Jazz season starts next month and I can't wait!

Utah State Fair & Boyz II Men

On Friday night we went to the Utah State Fair. Brady had never been before so I knew it was going to be a really fun night. We had such a great time thanks to these guys: Oh my gosh, I had such an amazing time. I can't tell you the last time I had that much fun. The yelling-like-a-little-girl, dancing, singing and laughing kind of fun! I have fallen in love all over again with Boyz II Men. After all these years, they still sound amazing and can dance as if if they were 20 years old. The next time they come in town, we are TOTALLY gonna be there!

Our seats were in the middle, in front of the stage. Couldn't have been better! Well, maybe if we were like first row it could have been better, but these were petty darn good. :)

Is there anything better than the big yellow slide? I think not. It costs $2 to ride and it's so worth it.
