Brady and Sean

We had such an awesome weekend! We went to Taylorsville Dayzz both Friday and Saturday and had a great time. Taylorsville Dayzz is a weekend-long event that gathers the city of Taylorsville, and many other people, together at Taylorsville Park for food, music, dancing, singing and fireworks!...I dare say the BEST fireworks in the state of Utah! In the day, Brady golfed; he had a great time playing golf with his high school baseball coach, Coach Cramblitt, while I went swimming with my friend Katie and then we met up with our friends at the park. It's always so much fun to hang out with old friends, some of them I haven't seen since high school! On Friday, they had a band that looked and sounded like The Beatles, it was great, but nothing compares to last night when they had a Neil Diamond impersonator...he was AWESOME! He was singing "America" when the fireworks started and I'm not kidding, that I had goosebumps...I felt very patriotic! Overall, we had a great weekend and I have posted some pictures for you. I don't know why I'm in almost every picture, it's kind of annoying actually, but I was camera happy and wanted to take as many pics as I could.

FastKart Indoor Speedway

Brady and I and some friends from work went to FastKart Indoor Speedway today and it was so much fun! I should have taken a picture of the whole track because it's really big, especially for being an indoor speedway. Out of our group, I got the slowest time, but oh well, I still had a great time. I thought to myself "if I can stay right behind Brady then I'll be fine;" oh boy, as soon as the green flag was waived in the air, Brady took off and I was a lost cause. We had the opportunity go around the course a couple times, (they let you go for about 10 minutes, then you have to stop and let other people go and then you can go out again), but I opted out the last time because I was totally motion/car sick...I am definately my mother's daughter!

Pictures from Softball

Look at our cool softball shirts....Gotta love them! Me and my girls! Tawnie, Katie and Cherie. (I have no idea who that little girl is.)

Last week our grandma (Nana) came to watch our softball game and it was so much fun having her there to cheer our team on; I was bad at taking pictures that night and didn't even get one of her and I together. I'm not sure how much fun she had because our winning streak, unfortunately, came to an end...sad. We lost 9-12 and of course she was there to see us lose, I hate that! After the game she invited Brady and I up to her house for dinner, which was wonderful! Nothing beats having dinner with our grandparents! Nana, thanks for a great night full of love and support, and good food!

NOT Your Average Day at the Course

Today Brady and a mission buddy went to the Champion's Challenge at Thanksgiving Point. He was so excited to get pictures with some of the LEGENDS of golf....and a basketball player! He's that guy that's not afraid to ask for things and you better believe he wasn't afraid to ask any of these guys for a picture! Jack Nicklaus - Arguablly the best golfer of all time!

D-Will (aka-Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz). I wish I would have been there just to meet him. I love him!! Go D-Will!!
Annika Sorenstam - A member of the LPGA Hall of Fame and one of the best female golfers.

Hale Irwin - Golf great who has won 3 U.S. Opens.

Jason Zuback - Has won 5 World Long Drive Championship Titles.
Craig Stadler - Golf great and former Masters winner.

*Happy Father's Day*

Today is Father's Day and I want everyone who reads this to know just how much I love my dads! I have been blessed with 2 great dads and couldn't be happier! Happy Father's Day to my dad, Gordon, (see post below entitled "Happy Birthday Dad"), for bringing me into this world and loving me unconditionally, and Happy Father's Day to my other dad, Brent, for raising me and loving me as your own. I am the luckiest girl in the world!
I thought these pictures of Brent and I were so cute. The first one was taken 2 weekends ago on our family trip to Strawberry Pinnacles, and the second one was taken at my wedding when Brent and I were dancing. I was so sad to be saying "goodbye" to him, I couldn't help but cry.
John, my wonderful father-in-law, you're amazing and I'm so happy that I am now part of your family. You have taken me in and treated me like any daughter-in-law would love to be treated. Thanks for all you have done for Brady and I. I admire you for always being so supportive of Brady and his baseball. He has told me numerous times how grateful he is for you and that you never missed one of his baseball games growing up. You're AMAZING!!
**I tried to download some pictures of John and Brady from our wedding and it has taken me over an hour to try and download them off of the wedding CD because our computer keeps freezing up, so I finally gave up. Sorry**

Oh, The Joys of Softball

Okay, so I have been the WORST at updating the blog lately! It's been a week already and I just feel like I have nothing of importance to talk about! Although, I will share with you all that Brady and I are on my work's softball team and it's a blast! (Sorry, I always forget to take pictures of us.) We had our 5th game tonight and we won, we are on a winning streak - we've won the last 3 games! Our record is now 3-2...that means we've won 3 and lost 2, right? Anyways, I'm slowly getting better and better and I have really been enjoying myself. Brady is the "all-star" on the team, so that makes me a very proud wife! All of our team mates always comment on how good Brady is and that he is "the best thing that's ever happened to our softball team," it's so cool! (I think playing baseball since he was 4 years old might have something to do with it!) I was playing catcher tonight and someone was running home so the pitcher threw the ball at me to get the runner out and not only did I miss the ball, but it hit the inside of my forearm super hard and now I have a big red welt! It hurt so bad. Geez, the things a girl will go through to win a softball game!

Happy Birthday DAD!!

If my dad were still alive he'd be turning 51 years old today; HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! I miss you like crazy and not a day goes by that I don't think about you. My dad was a very special man whose life was cut short at the age of 41 due to having a heart attack. He was such an example of strength and courage that I can only try to live up to. He was a great man with an even GREATER personality. He was an intelligent attorney, a loving father, a great friend and an overall EXTRAORDINARY person. Happy birthday Dad; here's to you!!
I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER

PaRtY TiMe

Over the weekend our friends, Gregg and Jamie, had a BBQ at their house because the weather was SO nice and it was our friend Sean's birthday. We had great food, that Gregg and Jamie spent lots of time preparing, and great fun! After we chowed down on food, candy and birthday cake, the boys went in the house and watched some fights on TV while the girls just sat around and chit-chatted. You'll notice in one of the pictures that Sean's face is smashed into the cake, um yeah, somebody pushed his face into the cake while he was blowing out his candles....the sick thing is that I still had a bite of it even though it was smashed and stuff! Once it got dark and the fights were over, we had a fire in Gregg and Jamie's fire pit, it was awesome! There's nothing like a good ol' S'more on a summer night. I am so excited it's starting to get nice and we can have BBQ's more often. Good times!!

Me, Shauna, Heidi and Jamie (Shauna's face is hilarious!)
Colby, Chad, Sam, "Hollywood's" fiance (I don't know her name) and "Hollywood" (I obviously don't know his name either, just his nickname.)
