Viva Las Vegas

Before I write about anything about Vegas, I want to say "Happy Birthday" to my sisters! Today is their birthday. I love you both so much and am happy that I am your sister. You make this world a better place. No matter what happened growing up, I knew I always had the 2 best friends a girl could ask for. Just like that frame that Mindy gave you, Missy, one year for Christmas: We are "Sisters by Chance, Friends by Choice." I love you both very much and hope you have a great day...you both deserve it.

Yes, I'm still alive! You might think otherwise if you've checked out my blog lately...I haven't blogged in such a long time! Oops! With Christmas and everything, it's just been so crazy. Well, we just got back from Vegas last night and it was a blast! I took so many pictures, but thought for the sake of your time and sanity, I wouldn't post them all. Here is a glimpse into our vacation:

Brady sleeping on the plane to Vegas. Can I just tell you that I love flying JetBlue? I love that everyone has their own TV and satellite radio to watch/listen to and I must admit, there is a lot more leg room compared to other airlines. I watched HGTV the whole way home and the flight seemed so fast! It was awesome.

Us taking a break in Hollister after some shopping. Good times.

The arena at MGM Grand for the UFC fight. The energy in there was awesome! Look at all the people, it was so much fun.

If you watched UFC on Saturday, you know that Silva got knocked out....I totally got a picture of it. Wow, that was awesome. Although, I wanted him to win and I was a bit sad he didn't, it was still a good fight.

Sean, Chad and Brady

Brady and one of the creators/owners of "Tapout," Punk A**. (Yes, that is his alter-ego name).

This fighter, Kevin Randleman, totally thought Missy was hot stuff. She asked him if we could get a picture with him and he said "with that smile, I'll do anything." After Brady took the picture, he told her to send the picture to his website and he would sign it for her and send it back. I swear, guys were always checking her out.

Here are Brady and Sean with Stitch. He's the guy that fixes all the fighters' cuts and stuff in between rounds.

Herb Dean...What's UFC without Herb Dean!

One of the announcers, Mike Goldberg. He's a lot skinnier in person than on TV. We wanted to get a picture with Joe Rogan as well, but he was no where in sight.

Tito Ortiz. He was doing an autograph signing at the hotel we stayed at. He was really nice. He was just leaving and Brady stopped him before he left and took this picture with him.

Last, but most definitely not least, it was our anniversary yesterday!! I woke up yesterday morning and walked into the bathroom to see this..."Happy 2nd anniversary, you rock my world." With the CUTEST letter I've ever read and some fake roses taped to the mirror as well. Do I have the best husband or what?? It made my day. He's always so thoughtful. Brady and I both have this week off of work so we are going to celebrate our anniversary today or this week. I'll be sure to let you know what fun stuff we do.

I hope you all had a great Christmas!

Cory and Kristie Lucking

This past weekend our good friend, Cory Lucking, got married! We were lucky enough to attend their rehearsal dinner on Friday night at Rodizio Grill and it was really yummy! Brady and I had never been there so it was a real treat. The wedding reception was on Saturday night at Cactus & Tropicals in Draper and it was beautiful. They looked so cute and happy together.

Instead of having a guest sign-in book, they had a photo booth where you got your picture taken. The booth prints out two copies of the pictures, one is for you to keep and the other is to glue into a scrapbook and you can write a little message next to it. What a great idea! It will be fun for them to see pictures of everybody that attended.

Brady and the boys...well some of them

2nd Annual Turkey Bowl

On Thanksgiving morning, Brady and his friends played in the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl. Heidi and I sat and watched our husbands play a grueling game of flag football. They played to defend their title that they earned last year, but I hate to report that Brady's team didn't walk away with the win this year; although they did win the 2nd game they played. I never thought playing football could make Brady so sore; he woke up Friday morning and his legs were so tight and he could barely move, I felt bad for him! I tried to massage them, but that didn't seem to help. It also doesn't help that my hands get tired after about 5 minutes of massaging. I got a few pictures of Brady and the guys that I thought were kind of fun and I got a couple good action shots as well. (My mom always taught me the importance of taking a good action shot. When we were little, I remember my mom taking pictures of me and my sisters and telling us to just talk to each other and laugh and not look at the camera; so funny.)

Great shot, if I do say so myself! (below)
He couldn't keep his eyes off me...Yeah right! No makeup, slept-on hair, baggy sweatpants, etc. I slept in as long as I possibly could and went straight to the game all bundled up. I have to be a supportive wife, right?!
The whole gang
The game was lots of fun, but I hope Brady's team wins next year. I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Last 2 Weeks in Review

I noticed that I haven't blogged in 2 weeks...what's my deal? I don't really have an answer for that except for the fact that I feel I've been quite busy. Here are some pictures of what's been happening in our little world: To start things off, some of my friends from Electric Beach and I met up at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner and it was lots of fun. Chantell, Jen, Kendra and I had a blast! I see Kendra at kickboxing, but it was so much fun to hang out with each other outside of that. It's always fun to have girl time. I like The Cheesecake Factory, but if you ask me, the portion sizes are WAY too big and it's a bit over priced. Nonetheless, it is good.
Brady, Karen (Brady's mom) and I all went to see Twilight on Friday night and I LOVED it! Even though we were on the very front row and I got a headache, I was so impressed with it and I totally want to go see it again; even Brady liked it! We walked out of the theater and Brady said "I hate to say it, but I really liked that!" I wasn't sure what I thought about Edward before I saw the movie because I just didn't think he was the right guy for the part, but I thought he was perfect.

Last, but definitely not least, we went to the Utah game yesterday. (I'm sure Twilight and the U game will be on a lot of people's blogs, but I just had to post some pictures from it). Camping out in the cold 2 weeks ago to get tickets was totally worth it!

We all stood the whole game because the tickets Brady and I got weren't even by each other, but I didn't mind; it was fun to be with all of our friends. My back started to ache, but it was so much fun. This is me and Katie waiting for the game to start.
Jake and Brady enjoying the game
With 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter we walked down onto the field; we were so close to the players! I was afraid we were going to get trampled once the game was over, but oh well, live and learn.
Brady and I got split up, thank goodness I was with Katie otherwise I would have been so scared, and this is when we finally met back up with each other. It was crazy when everybody rushed the field, Katie and I were laughing so hard because it was a mad house! Brady told me that his shoes fell off and that he'll never do it again. (thankfully, both of his shoes were recovered).
The madness...so exciting!!
Louie Sakoda
Brady found Aaron Tonga, a good friend from high school, who plays for Utah. So fun!
We've had lots of fun these past 2 weeks, but I got sick which totally put a damper on things. Last week I went to bed at 8:30 a few nights (totally not like me) because I felt so crummy. I think I've turned the corner and will be 100% for Thanksgiving! Also, my brother Nate and his family are visiting this week from Pitt! I can't wait to see them! AND I'm so happy it's a short week at work, I love the long weekends and think it's about time for one; I need to start my Christmas shopping; I can't believe Christmas is in a month...where did 2008 go?

Friends, Fun & FREEZING!

Friday night after work Brady and I, along with a few of our friends, drove up to Rice-Eccles stadium and camped out to get tickets for the BYU-Utah game which went on sale Saturday morning at 8:00 am. I don't consider myself a huge football fan that would ever dream about camping out in the cold for 15 hours, but I must admit, I had a great time and will thoroughly enjoy watching the U beat BYU on the 22nd. This is Katie, me and Brady at the beginning of the night preparing for the long night ahead
Just us

It was such an awesome surprise when the Utah football players and Coach Whittingham brought everyone pizza from The Pie! It totally hit the spot! We couldn't pass up getting a picture with King Louie!! We were all kind of star struck, it was funny.

Brady asked Coach Whittingham if he could get a picture with him and the next thing we know, this kid on a bike rolls up and asks if he can be in the picture and then the kid on the left of Coach asked too; we have no idea who they are! Everyone wanted in on the fun. I bet the team felt like rock stars; everyone was cheering really loud and asking to get pictures with them. It was really cool.

We found the Red Bull girls and they gave us free Red Bull, it helped me to stay awake

This is us at 5:00 in the morning after falling asleep for a couple hours. We were pretty tired! None of our friends had a tent so we just slept out underneath the stars. It wasn't as cold as you'd think, but it definitely wasn't very warm either!

I failed to get a picture of us and our tickets because as soon as we got in the car we only had one thing on our minds....SLEEP! Right when we got home, around 9:30 am, we fell asleep until a little after 1:00 pm. I feel like my whole weekend has been out of wack, but it was so worth it! We are super excited for the game and had a great time camping out! Go Utes!

A Few Halloween Pics

I didn't take very many pictures from Halloween, I guess that has something to do with the fact that we didn't even dress up on Halloween, but oh well. These pictures are from Monday night when we went to the annual Olsen Halloween Party at my grandparents. We had taco soup and garlic bread...it was awesome! I love my sis'!
Me and my girlfriend Brady. When we walked in, everybody was laughing so hard! It was so much fun getting him all ready, painting his toe nails, putting on his makeup, shaving his legs etc.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for such a great party!

ALL Sorts of FUN Stuff

We have had so many fun things going on these past few days! The other day, Brady played in the Taylorsville alumni baseball game and I loved every second of it! Even though I was there from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm and my butt was going to sleep from sitting on the hard chair for so long, it was great to watch Brady play. I have yet to learn all the rules of baseball, but I just mainly focus on him anyway so it doesn't really matter. I tell ya, I love seeing him in his baseball uniform!! Here he is at bat... He went 3 for 3 with a walk, he was on FIRE! I was a proud wife. By the way, Taylorsville beat Kearns 15 to 12. Go T-Ville! Getting ready to run to 2nd base
This is the time at bat that he hit a double!

Very cool field. It's at Kearns High School and it's always fun to watch a game there.

My sexy boy

This was at the Zoo Boo (I think that's what it's called) at Hogle Zoo. It was great weather and it was fun to see all the little kids dressed up. Bevin and Koen are to die for in their costumes, huh?!

This year was my first time attending Withes Night Out at Gardner Village and it was a blast! Stacey, Alesha, Mindy and I had a great time getting all dressed up and walking around Gardner Village, checking out all the little shops and eating cheesy potato soup & pumpkin sugar cookies! YUMMY! (We missed you LOTS Miss!)
