Fun in the Sun

Alesha, Koen and I went swimming this morning and it was great! It was fun to lay around the pool and catch some rays. I applied SPF 30 before I left home and then again after about 20 minutes of being there...I really didn't want to burn! After about 40 minutes, my stomach started looking red, even after 2 applications of sunscreen, so I put my tank top on just to ensure I wouldn't burn like I did 2 weekends ago.

Koen got some sort of bug-bite on his foot, so that was sad, but it was fun to see him play around in the water and have a really good time; he loved showing me that he could blow bubbles in the water by putting his face in the water and blowing out of his mouth...so cute! I had a great time catching up with Lesh and look forward to more days of swimming and FUN IN THE SUN!! Thanks Lesh!!

Cute little Koen eating an avocado sandwich.

Whoa! I guess the camera was zoomed in on this pic, but I thought it was still cute.

Rain, Rain, Please Go Away

Here it is, Memorial Day morning and my big plans for the day have fallen through due to the rain. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the rain, but not when it affects my plans. I initally had planned to go swimming with my friends and sisters because today is the day that all the pools open...that obviously isn't going to happen. And then Brady and I and our friends had planned to go hiking today, bring a packed lunch and enjoy the day...that isn't going to happen either. I'm pretty much bummed out right now. It's 10 minutes to 8:00 am; do I go back to sleep for another hour or so, or start the gloomy day right now and head to the gym....Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one. Nothing is better than lying in bed, having the window cracked a little bit and listening to the rain...

Marissa and Katelyn

Okay, so I know it's been way too long since I've done a blog update and I'm sorry! I feel like I've been so busy. Last week we had a family party to celebrate my Grandpa's birthday and it was really fun. We had great food and played the infamous Olsen family volleyball game. I, unfortunately, couldn't play because the day before, my sisters and I laid out in the sun and I got really burned and couldn't play :(. I was so mad at myself. It was such a fun day and it was great to spend time with my sisters-in-law Gina and Alesha who are in town from Pennsylvania; although I sure miss Nate and Phil and can't wait to see them! Missy and Alesha showed up wearing the exact same shirt so I had to get a picture of them; they both looked super cute. I took lots of pictures with my mom's camera and not very many with mine; I didn't even get a picture of my Grandpa and it was his birthday. Oops!

Fun, Fun and More Fun!

What a fun Mother's Day we had! My friend Katie texted me asking if we wanted to use her Jazz tickets and after contemplating whether or not we should go, we couldn't NOT take them; they were FREE! So we hurried and picked up the tickets from her to make it to the Energy Solutions Arena just a little after the 1st quarter started. What a game! When it went into overtime, I was so nervous we might lose, but we pulled through and WON!

After the game, we went to Sugarhouse Park to eat and hang out with the family, it couldn't have been better. The weather was perfect, the company was excellent and the food was great! I didn't get pictures of everyone that was there, but needless to say, we had a great time!

After that, it was off to Brady's family party where we had more food and more fun! We are so spoiled to have such great families surrounding us.

Happy Mother's Day!

This is a shout-out to the two best moms in the whole world!! Happy Mother's Day to both of you; you deserve nothing but the best! We love you SO MUCH and appreciate all that you do for us. Here's to you!!

Karen- Thanks for raising such a great son... I love him to pieces! You have always been so suportive of him in everything he does. I don't think you ever missed one baseball game in all the years he played! Thanks for being so supportive of our relationship when he was on his mission and inviting me to all the family functions, it meant more to me than you know. I'm glad I'm now part of your family, I love you all so much!

Mom- Thanks for EVERYTHING you've done for me! You are my best friend! I know I can call on you for anything and you'd be there to help. I love how I call you on the phone for no reason, but we find things to talk about and can talk forever! People say I'm a "mini Kris" and I take that as a huge compliment. You have been through so much in your life and you have been nothing but faithful and optimistic. You are amazing! I love you so much.

**These pictures aren't very recent; they are from our wedding, a year and a half ago, but they are the only ones that are saved on the computer of Brady and his mom and me and my mom. Obviously, I need to work on taking more pictures!**

GO JAZZ!!

Katie, my friend from work, has season tickets to the Jazz games and asked me yesterday if we'd like to buy 2 of them from her for last nights game and you better believe I said YES! Oh my gosh, it was so much fun! I'm so glad she thought of asking me. That's me and Katie.

As you can see, our seats were in the upper bowl, but they were still pretty good seats. The whole arena got blue shirts that said "one team, one dream" so we proudly put ours on the second we got to our seats. My throat hurts this morning because I was yelling so much, and last night my hands hurt from clapping so hard. What a great game! Now that we won that game, the series is far from over. Let's hope we win tomorrow!!
**I forgot to mention that David Archuleta sang the National Anthem and he did such a great job! It gave me goosebumps. What a fun night!

What a GREAT Surprise!

The other day, Brady and Dustin and 2 friends went golfing and were going to play 18 holes so I knew it would be a long time until they got home. I called my sister Mindy in the morning to see what she had planned for the day and nothing was on the docket, so I told her I'd call her later once I was ready for the day. I was in the middle of cleaning the kitchen when I heard a knock at my door and guess who it was.....MINDY AND BEVIN!! I was so excited! It was so fun to spend some time with them with no distractions. I was holding Bev and had to go grab something so I sat her on the floor, thinking she could hold herself up, and she fell right over, it was so funny! I have no idea when little babies start to do things on their own, for some reason I just feel like little kids should do everything on their own, no matter what age they are! So, I then placed her in the corner of my two couches and couldn't help but snap a few pictures, I just love her so much...Oh yeah, Mindy's not too bad herself. :) We then went to the mall and walked around and had a really good time. (too bad my other sister, Missy, was out of town or it would have been total sister-bonding!)

Another New Favorite Place Is....

Red Mango!

Holy cow, if you've never been there, you're totally missing out! It's a healthy, authentic non-fat frozen yogurt place that is AMAZING! I got a gift card from there the other day at a wedding shower so Brady and I went on Saturday night and we were both in heaven! You can get either their 'original' yogurt, which is what we got, or you can have their 'green tea' yogurt and put any topping on it that you'd like. I put strawberries and blackberries on mine and Brady put mangoes and pineapples on his....WOW, so good! I can't even explain the taste to you, it's like something I've never tasted in my life. Here is the website, check it out and go there soon!

Law Day 5K Run

This morning we ran in the Law Day 5K Run with my work and other law firms in the valley. It was really nice weather, a little on the cold side, but really fun. I don't particularly enjoy running up-hill for long periods of time, but that was all the race was pretty much! Our calfs were burning from running up the hills, but we got a good workout and it was really nice to start the day early. Anyways, have a great Saturday!!

Golf Season Has Officially Started!

Yesterday after work Brady and I went and played golf with my cousin Ryan and his girfriend, it was so much fun! I have alot of practice to do until I will feel really comfortable, but I still had a great time; even if I did hit 2 balls into the water...:) I had to hit my first ball out of the bunker yesterday and I must admit, I think I did pretty good!

My aunts and uncles, (Steve, Michelle, John and Shauna), play in a golfing league every Friday night and Brady and I are going to join next week. It should be interesting, but really fun. I'll keep you posted on how we do!

Is he good looking or what?!?!
